Thanks to my friend Allison for sharing Buzzfeed’s guide to delicious NYC winter food. I’ve only been to two of these places! Who’s tried any of the food on this list?

Btw, that is just ground beef on top, not even sausage!

Greetings! I haven’t been posting lately because I have been dealing with some really shitty personal stuff, but it’s better now, so here I am!

Rob and I went out to dinner tonight to S Prime Steakhouse for our first anniversary and it was so good! It’s in Astoria and it made me miss Astoria. Though if we went here every night… well we couldn’t afford that.

We started with this thing that the waiter brought out – a bleu cheese stuffed date, wrapped in bacon.

Then we shared the porterhouse, mashed potatoes and creamed spinach.sprime (1) sprime (2)

It was so delicious! The steak – well look at it. It was amazing. The mashed potatoes and the creamed spinach were so good too. There was a bottle of wine on the menu for over $3000 but we didn’t get that. We got a mini bottle, which you can kind of see in the background in that last picture.

Anyway, I am very stuffed and I was disappointed that we didn’t get the molten chocolate cake, but what can ya do. There is always next time!

Soo we went to Smorgasburg again last week. For the second week in a row. It was kind of empty – there were plenty of people there, but there were not as many stands as there usually are!

Here are two new dishes we tried:

  5. First Smorgs Trip of 2013

August 25, 2013 by Emily Pergament

FINALLY! We made our first trip to Smorgasburg this year. It’s really unbelievable how fast the summer has gone by and how many weekends we had booked in advance. Anyway, we had some old favorites, like Handsome Hank’s Fish Hut and the salted oatmeal cookies ice cream sandwich from The Good Batch (which is so freaking good, words cannot describe), and here are some new things we tried:

Today was the day of two green pastas.

First, I had spicy cold peanut noodles (with spinach noodles) at LIC Flea.

  7. Bonfire and Banter

April 24, 2013 by Emily Pergament

Two bars we have eaten at in Forest Hills.

We went to Bonfire tonight. We got salads and a side of onion ribbons, natch.

Rob’s salad had strawberries, feta, chicken, glazed walnuts, and whatever else you see above.

Phew! The past week has been quite the whirlwind. We moved and I just got the internet set up here. So of course the first thing I do is update FIM because I’m pretty sure it’s been forgotten about since I haven’t updated it in forever.

Ok well let’s see. I suppose the most exciting adventure in eating that I have had lately is this glorious slice right here:

Can you tell what this is? This is a piece of pizza with fried eggplant, ricotta and extra sauce on top. Oh man. I’ve eaten it twice already. It’s from Portofino. Want to know a fun fact? The first piece of pizza I ate when I got to college was eggplant pizza! That was also the day that Rob and I met. Awww.

Well I just wanted to pop in real quick and say hello and sorry for my absence!

  9. Get ready…

…for LIC Flea & Food. From what limited information there is on their site, I think it will be Smorgasburg-esque. Every weekend in Queens.

Astorians, listen up! If you enjoy eating, you need to go to the Butcher Bar. Even if you don’t enjoy eating, go. It’s so so good. I don’t have the adjectives or adverbs to adequately describe it. And that is a shame because it deserves so much more praise that I will be able to give, but I will try my best.
