  1. Chocolate-covered Oreos

December 10, 2013 by Emily Pergament

    1) Melt dark chocolate chips.

    2) Dip Oreos.

    3) Have your husband gently apply peanut butter chips on top.

    4) Cool until chocolate is hard.

    5) Try not to eat them all in one sitting.

I’m giving these to people at work for Christmas. I usually make cookies, but these seem so much better.

Thanks to my mother, who made chocolate-covered pretzels a Christmas tradition. I just kicked it up a notch, if I say so myself.

  2. Bait and Hook

Me. Oh. MY, it has been a while since I’ve posted about a restaurant! Anyway, Rob and I went to Bait and Hook in the East Village on Friday. It’s a seafood restaurant (ya think?) and it’s on Savored and Rob was in the East Village for work, so of course we ate there.

We started with calamari and raw oysters, which I had never had before. They kind of just tasted like sea water – not awful, but not my favorite. I don’t think I’ll eat them again.

And I had a scallop roll (which had jalapenos and bacon on it!).

I also had a mojito, which was good, but way too small for them to charge $11. Overall though, the prices were reasonable for a NYC seafood restaurant, even more so because it’s on Savored.

Thanks to my friend Allison for sharing Buzzfeed’s guide to delicious NYC winter food. I’ve only been to two of these places! Who’s tried any of the food on this list?

Here’s what I’m making with leftovers: more latkes (it’s still Hanukkah!) and turkey soup. To the turkey soup, I’m adding …
