Last week, Rob and I had our first Sri Lankan food experience at Sigiri. It was on Savored, it has rave reviews, and it was near the venue where we were seeing a concert later that night, so it was the perfect place to go.

We split two dishes. The Yelp reviews say it’s the spiciest thing in the entire world, so definitely order it mild. Which we did. I asked for it as mild as possible. And it was still 5-alarm spicy.

This dish has shredded dough, stir fried with chicken, veggies and egg. Kind of like fried rice, but a really different texture.Resampled_2013-09-27_18-29-16_670

This dish was kind of like a casserole inside a banana leaf:

It had rice, chicken, egg, fish, plantains and eggplant in it. Again, both dishes were extremely spicy.

Anyway, I would definitely recommend this place (if you like spicy, duh). It’s on Savored AND it’s BYOB! Hello. Plus, I love trying new cuisines. And I learned where Sri Lanka is, thanks to the map on their wall.
