  1. Ten best burgers in America

    2

May 28, 2013 by Emily Pergament

CNN’s list of the top ten burgers in America includes THREE right here in NYC. Incidentally, I have a new goal this summer.

The three burgers in NYC are located at Brindle Room, Bill’s Bar and Burger and The Little Owl.

La Boussole may have been my favorite meal, but we ate at Au Père Louis. Rob and I ate here by ourselves on Tuesday night, and then when my mom’s friend was in town on Friday night, we were looking for somewhere nearby and delicious. So of course we suggested Au Père Louis. I’d been dreaming about this duck steak for the past three days:

It was listed on the menu as “big sausage.” That was the English translation, at least. How could anyone resist?

  8. My favorite meal in Paris

If I had to pick, I’d say my favorite meal while in Paris was at La Boussole, in the 6th District. We did the prix fixe menu (not actually called that in Paris – just called “menu”), so we each got an entree (appetizer), plat (entree/main course) and dessert (dessert :-p). My dad and I both got the salmon tartar, and Rob and my mom both had some crab and cheese dish that was really rich and yummy.

  9. Fete du Pain

I really don’t even know where to start with these Paris posts. So I will just get started with this.

The first day (and probably every day) we were there, we walked by Notre Dame because it was fairly close to our hotel. We noticed there was a huge white tent in front of it. Inside the tent was a bread festival, Fete du pain, where bakers were making, baking and selling bread.

Yummy! My favorite bread to eat in Paris was pain au chocolat. I ate it everyday at least once. It’s like a croissant with chocolate inside – not melted chocolate, but kind of like a chocolate bar. I’m sure I have a picture of it somewhere.

Which brings me to another point – I may go back and add more photos to posts as I see what photos my parents and Rob took. So check back! I know I have more photos of the bread festival.

    …Paris!

And OMG I have a million pictures of food. From the good, the bad to the andouilette, I have lots to post.

I’ll leave you with this, possibly my favorite picture from the trip:
